Simply to say THANK YOU!

thank-you

In January, we received a very generous gift from the construction firm Bouygues UK (BYUK), who donated the proceeds of their Christmas Raffle to match-fund students using Click (read about it here).

This amazing gift has now made a lot of dreams come true. Seven different projects on Click have been matchfunded and raised more than £7,798 in total. To celebrate the great impact that Bouygues’ donation had on our Essex community we have asked the beneficiaries to share how they felt when receiving the extra boost to their campaigns and what it meant to them.

“The generosity of Bouygues UK helped me pursue my interests beyond the university barriers. The opportunity to develop my public speaking at the conference I participated was a skill essential for the long run and my future endeavors. I am so grateful to everyone at Bouygues for their support and generosity.”

Lacrose

“Thank you so much for matchfunding £250 to our cause. Without this, our Men’s Lacrosse Club wouldn’t have the money to buy Jersey Kits for future BUCS games. It is your generosity that enables clubs such as Lacrosse to continue running”

Christopher Khounsombath – President of Men’s Lacrosse Club

St. John’s Ambulance Society

Raised: £1684 ( £250 matchfunding from Bouygues)

St Johns

“Moulage (Casualty simulation) is the art of applying mock injuries for the purpose of training emergency response teams and other medical personnel. Casualty simulation will help to improve a students’ learning by taking a dull power point presentation or boring worksheet and creating an exciting interactive scenario where students can put their skills to the test in a safe and supportive environment. We have already successfully used our new kit, which we bought thanks to Bouygues UK, in several training events. Most significantly we have already used this equipment in Exercise Rebel Alliance, the largest major incident simulation St John Ambulance has ever run in the east of England. At exercise rebel alliance we were able to train a large group of volunteers from St John Ambulance specialist Medical Response Team and we also worked with Essex Police, 161 medical squadron and almost 100 volunteer casualties. This event was awarded ‘event of the year’ by the University of Essex Student Union Societies Guild. We are already planning how we will be able to continue using this equipment at both large and small scale training events in the future.”

Dear Mathias Talpaert and team,

CT3 would like to say a huge thank you for supporting Debut Festival. The money donated helped us cover the costs of a top theatre photographer to photograph our seven shows. The photos have aided our transition from training actors, to professional theatre makers marking our stamp in the industry. Since the festival, we have used the photo’s to secure venues at both London and Fringe theatres, with three show’s heading up to Edinburgh and the remainder of the shows securing London venues.

We couldn’t have done it without you!

I learnt so much, like how to do ID different corals, seagrass, fish and invertebrates, as well as carry out scientific diving. I’ve never seen so much coral in my life! And I will definitely be going back. ”

And here is what Mathias Talpaert, Construction Director for London and the South East at Bouygues UK, said:

“We are thrilled to see the incredibly varied impact that our donation to the Click crowdfunding platform has had. We are passionate about innovation, entrepreneurialism and giving back to the communities in which we work, so supporting Click was a fitting choice. It’s great to see that the money raised from our Christmas raffle has been put to such good use, supporting the diverse activities that enrich student life at the University of Essex.”

From all of us at Click, we want to sincerely thank Bouygues UK for supporting our students in this way – it has played a huge part in growing Click into the platform it is today!
